Glass-coated PET bottles resolve juice production challenge 28-11-2018 Priority for fully recyclable PET bottles: when the German Packaging Law comes into effect on January 1, 2019, the new legislation will set down binding rules to increase recycling quotas. The amendment will levy higher fees for packaging which is difficult to recycle. This includes non-returnable PET bottles with composite materials for juice and nectar, among other products. |

BrauBeviale 2018 was bigger and more international than ever 27-11-2018 After three successful days, BrauBeviale is closing its doors on a record high note. Over 40,000 trade visitors (2016: 37,923) – over 18,000 of them international – travelled to Nuremberg to attend this year’s most important capital goods exhibition for the beverage industry from 13 to 15 November 2018. While there, 1,094 exhibitors – 53 percent of them international – presented their products and solutions related to the entire beverage production process chain, with offerings ranging from raw materials to technologies and components all the way to packaging, as well as accessories and marketing ideas. A varied supporting programme rounded out the three days. |

UNITED CAPS Partners with trio-technik 25-10-2018 UNITED CAPS, an international manufacturer of caps and closures, today announced it has installed four trio-technik AirMove transport systems in its Schwerin plant, which primarily serves the German beverage market. The 10,000 m2 facility occupies two production halls, employs 58 people, and produces several billion 28mm and 38mm closures per year for still and carbonated water, juices and milk. Trio-technik will be demonstrating the system using caps and closures from UNITED CAPS at the 26th Fakuma international trade fair for plastics processing, scheduled for 16 to 20 October 2018 in Friedrichshafen, Germany. |
