KHS focuses on circular economy at the K Show
KHS presents a new PET concept at the K Show based on the juice bottle as an example. It combines individual environmentally friendly packaging solutions in one container and thereby supports the theory of circular economy. The system provider shows how efficiency and sustainability go hand in hand by offering further line-compatible container solutions in addition to its Bottles & ShapesTM service offering. With these technologies, KHS provides its customers support in the conversion to an environmentally friendly and resource-conserving packaging portfolio.

GAMA International will introduce its whole range of solutions for label printers at Labelexpo Europe 2019
GAMA International will be present at Labelexpo Europe, Brussels, at Hall 11 - stand F16, together with its local dealer Advanced Machinery. Products introduced will include viscometers, sleeve storage systems, anilox and photopolymer cleaning systems. Among the GAMA viscometers, a focus will be dedicated to the G34 system, specific for controlling viscosity and temperature of UV inks and G32 for water-based varnishes.

Avery Dennison Joins Ellen MacArthur CE 100

Coperion has enabled Benin-based blown film manufacturer Asahel Benin Sarl. to produce sustainable, bio-based plastic films in the future by delivering a complete compounding system and sharing the corresponding process engineering expertise. The system includes a ZSK 26 Mc18 twin screw extruder, four highly accurate feeders from Coperion K-Tron, as well as a water bath, an air wipe and a strand pelletizer from Coperion Pelletizing Technology.

Schubert-Cosmetics presented three new products to more than 50 customers and interested parties who had travelled from all over Europe and overseas to an in-house exhibition on 27 June. Baker Labels enhances service offering and boosts productivity with installation of second Screen press
Screen announces that Baker Labels, a leading UK label print provider, has purchased a Truepress Jet L350UV+LM to expand its application offering and increase capacity for its existing print line. According to Steve Baker, Managing Director at Baker Labels, the company decided to invest in the Truepress Jet L350UV+LM based on the results of its previous investment. He explains: “With the uptime, reliability and quality we’ve experienced with our Truepress L350UV press – in combination with the industry leading speeds of up to 60 metres per minute – investing in the L350UV+LM was an obvious choice to expand our capacity.”

Sappi to present its innovative papers and packaging solutions at FachPack 2019
Environmentally friendly packaging is a hot topic worldwide. Sappi has been a pioneer in the field of innovative and sustainable packaging solutions for years. The company will present its latest innovations at Stand 9-260 at FachPack in Nuremberg. Alongside barrier papers, these include the heat-sealable Sappi Seal paper. KHS’ Innofill Can C can filler has British craft brewer Magic Rock convinced
Since its launch in 2017 the KHS Innofill Can C can filler has successfully established itself on the market. Over 30 craft brewers worldwide are already benefitting from this new development from KHS. The Innofill Can C is designed for low to medium outputs depending on the can size, enabling between 10,000 and 40,000 cans to be filled per hour. In addition to quick commissioning and maximum hygiene the system is convincing with its exceptionally low oxygen pickup and faster format changeovers. Magic Rock in West Yorkshire is just one example of the successful reception it has had to date.

Oliver Winery announces agreement with Ardagh Group
Ardagh Group, Glass – North America, a division of Ardagh Group and the largest domestic manufacturer of glass bottles for the U.S. wine market, announced a long-term supply agreement with Oliver Winery to manufacture the majority of its wine bottles.

Ardagh’s beverage cans deliver the cold brew coffee revolution
With the help of Ardagh Group’s sustainable beverage cans, Cafeahaus AG has launched Goldbrew, the ready-to-drink (RTD), cold-brewed coffee range in cans in the German market. Their flavoured carbonated versions ‘Goldbrew ginger & lemon’ and ‘Goldbrew grapefruit & lemon’ are filled in Ardagh’s 250ml slim cans and a first in the German market. Goldbrew cold brew coffee is made from 100% sustainable Arabica coffee beans to serve a naturally refreshing and energising drink. Next to its sparkling flavoured coffees, Cafeahaus complements its Goldbrew range with a nitro original cold brew coffee, which comes in Ardagh’s unique Nitro Can.

Avery Dennison shortlisted for global environmental and sustainability award 2019
Global materials science and manufacturing company Avery Dennison has been shortlisted for the Environmental and Sustainability Award of the Label Industry Global Awards 2019. One of three finalists, Avery Dennison is the first pressure sensitive label material supplier to introduce liner made from recycled PET, available commercially in Europe. The liner, which uses 30% PET post-consumer waste, meets technical qualifications while maintaining quality and performance for label design, printing, and application.
