KHS show the flexible, resource-saving beer stabilization Innopro ECOSTAB
In 1878 Lorenz A. Enzinger, heralded by the trade as the “Einstein of beer”, registered the first filter machine with the Imperial Patent Office. KHS sets new standards in beer filling with DPG and DRS
Sustainability is essential in the development of the machines of the KHS Group. The optimized models of the Innofill Glass DPG and DRS high-performance fillers set milestones in filling technology. For the first time KHS is offering the Eco version of the DPG which enables customers to achieve savings in the areas of CO2, water and electricity. In addition to improved resource efficiency, these glass bottling systems offer advantages in the areas of filling process monitoring and adjustment, increased efficiency and quality assurance.

Crown helps brands meet demands for single-serve packaging
According to European Union statistics, nearly two-thirds of all households in the EU-28 were composed of one or two people in 2017. The most common type of household consists of a single person, making up one third (33.6 %) of the total number of households. This demographic trend is helping drive the popularity of single-serve portions across the food sector. With time at a premium for most consumers, convenience ranks high on their list of demands, and single-serve portions enable them to take their favorite foods with them on-the-go or put a healthy meal together in just moments after a busy day.

Ball to showcase its latest ends and tabs innovations at Braubeviale
This year at BrauBeviale, Ball showcased its extensive ends and tabs range alongside other key innovations at its dynamic stand. In the U.S., Ball is currently developing Cameo Print™ technology, which allows up to four colors to be used, as well as an additional base coat, on the end of a can. Glass-coated PET bottles resolve juice production challenge
Priority for fully recyclable PET bottles: when the German Packaging Law comes into effect on January 1, 2019, the new legislation will set down binding rules to increase recycling quotas. The amendment will levy higher fees for packaging which is difficult to recycle. This includes non-returnable PET bottles with composite materials for juice and nectar, among other products.

BrauBeviale 2018 was bigger and more international than ever
After three successful days, BrauBeviale is closing its doors on a record high note. Over 40,000 trade visitors (2016: 37,923) – over 18,000 of them international – travelled to Nuremberg to attend this year’s most important capital goods exhibition for the beverage industry from 13 to 15 November 2018. While there, 1,094 exhibitors – 53 percent of them international – presented their products and solutions related to the entire beverage production process chain, with offerings ranging from raw materials to technologies and components all the way to packaging, as well as accessories and marketing ideas. A varied supporting programme rounded out the three days.

Henkel has helped Envases Técnicos Zaragoza S.L. Benefits include superior HSE performance and bath life over traditional mixed acid pickling systems as well as outstanding corrosion resistance.

Arburg at the Fakuma 2018: on track for success with the "Road to Digitalisation"
At the Fakuma 2018, Arburg provided insights into the digital present and future of injection moulding: on the "Road to digitalisation", digital products and services were presented and, in numerous expert talks, introduced in detail to the trade visitors. These included Arburg's six assistance packages, the introduction of a new customer portal and practical examples of "smart services". On the exhibition stand, existing and prospective customers were also able to experience how their new machines will look from 2019. This was because all the injection moulding exhibits appeared in the new Arburg colour scheme of mint green, light grey and dark grey.

Carlsberg chose the global ink manufacturer hubergroup as main supplier for their beer labels

For this reason, the market leading ink manufacturer hubergroup was by mid-2017 the first manufacturer to launch globally a wide range of Cradle to Cradle certified™ ink series and coatings for sustainable offset and gravure print products.

UNITED CAPS Partners with trio-technik
UNITED CAPS, an international manufacturer of caps and closures, today announced it has installed four trio-technik AirMove transport systems in its Schwerin plant, which primarily serves the German beverage market. The 10,000 m2 facility occupies two production halls, employs 58 people, and produces several billion 28mm and 38mm closures per year for still and carbonated water, juices and milk. Trio-technik will be demonstrating the system using caps and closures from UNITED CAPS at the 26th Fakuma international trade fair for plastics processing, scheduled for 16 to 20 October 2018 in Friedrichshafen, Germany.

Ardagh is pleased to announce the introduction of Kahlúa Espresso Martini in Nitro Cans. The Nitro Can is the ready-to-drink (RTD) packaging solution for nitro beverages and was launched in late 2016 to capitalise on the nitro coffee trend gaining momentum in key European markets. Kahlúa uses a 250ml slim Nitro Can to provide consumers a velvety smooth Espresso Martini infused with nitrogen.

Crown more than halfway toward fulfilling its 2020 sustainability goals
Two years into its five-year initiative to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions, Crown Holdings, Inc. (Crown) (www.crowncork.com), a leading supplier of packaging products worldwide, has exceeded one of its two targeted 2020 sustainability goals. In 2016, the Company announced its plan to reduce energy consumption by 5% per billion standard units of production from 2015 levels by the end of 2020. As of December 31, 2017, Crown has surpassed this goal, reducing energy consumption by 5.1% per billion standard units. Absolute energy consumption has increased by only 1.6% while the Company increased production by over 7.1%.
