HERMA Compostable label stock now certified

In cases where waste cannot be avoided, it should at least be recyclable or suitable for composting. Reflecting its sustainable approach, HERMA has now taken a further step in this direction. The label stocks consisting of the label materials HERMAextracoat (grade 242) or HERMAtherm Bio (grade 908) and the special adhesive 62N have now been awarded the so-called Keimling (seedling) logo, as certification according to EN 13432 has been successfully completed.

The new Schütz Australia factory was officially opened on the 15th of November with a festive programme that also featured traditional elements of Aboriginal culture. “G'day Down Under!” – around 100 guests, including numerous customers and suppliers as well as representatives from the media, came to the opening in Yatala south of Brisbane. As well as ideal logistic connections, the new 19,000-square-metre company site has state-of-the-art facilities for the production of new IBCs, IBC and drum reconditioning as well as high-performance storage and logistics facilities. The new plant is an investment that will optimise supplies to customers in the eastern part of the country.

Herma presents a new wash-off adhesive optimises PET recycling

Successively transforming used PET bottles into new ones is no longer a vision, but has long since become a reality. The special wash-off adhesive for labels 62Rpw, which HERMA will shortly be introducing, will allow recycling operators to produce high-purity PET pellets that do not contain any detrimental residues – no remains of paper or film labels, and no residual adhesive. Unlike downcycling or cascading, the resulting continuous cycle ranks among the most important requirements of a sustainable economy.
